Join us for an afternoon of discovery as we explore the past, present and future of astronomy at the Carnegie Observatories.

  • Meet our astronomers, and learn about the exciting discoveries underway at our Pasadena headquarters and our Las Campanas Observatory in Chile
  • Bring your questions about the Universe to the “Ask the Astronomers” tables
  • Hear the latest progress in constructing the Giant Magellan Telescope – the most powerful telescope ever built
  • View the sun through a solar telescope
  • Tour the Hale Library and learn about the historic contributions Carnegie scientists have made to understanding the Universe
  • Visit the machine shop to see how instruments are built for our telescopes in Chile
  • Enjoy the beautiful outdoor courtyard with refreshments and live music
