A Tidal Tale

Last April I gave a talk here at Carnegie that outlined the current state-of-the-art
in numerical models, specifically idealized models of galaxies either in isolation
or participating in a major merger. After a brief review (for those who unfortunately
missed that talk), I will discuss the various ways in which these models are being
tested as well as a few of the successes, failures, and ways forward.
