Information for Colloquium Speakers

The offices of the Observatories of the Carnegie Institution for Science are located at 813 Santa Barbara Street, Pasadena.

Our colloquia are held in the William T. Golden auditorium at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoons, preceded by refreshments at 3:30 p.m.

Accommodations

Colloquium speakers are normally housed in the Atheneum, on the Cal Tech Campus (551 South Hill Avenue), or the Guest Center at Fuller Seminary (700 Locust Street). Both are within walking distance of the Observatories.

Transportation

A common choice for transportation is to employ a shared-ride van between LAX and the airport.  You can make
reservations for one of the two operators:  Prime Time Shuttle (http://www.primetimeshuttle.com/) and Super Shuttle (http://www.sgtransit.com/airport_service.php).  Both offer similar quality service for roughly $30 each way.  Taxi service is roughly $82 each way.
