Abstract

Deriving accurate ages of stars is one of the most important, if elusive, goals of modern-day astrophysics. In this talk, I will review some of the techniques that have been used to infer such ages, with emphasis on the oldest stars. Recent applications to stellar clusters and field stars alike will be critically discussed, as will the implications of this work for different areas of astrophysics.
