Overview

Erica Clark joined The Observatories in 2013, following executive positions in cultural and educational institutions in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. 

At Carnegie, she works closely with the Director and scientific staff on a variety of outreach and educational activities designed to expand visibility and support for Carnegie astronomy among audiences throughout the region and beyond. These include the annual Carnegie Astronomy Lecture Series, special events for friends of the Observatories, and partnerships with other organizations, among others.

At Art Center College of Design as Senior Vice President for International Initiatives, Clark co-founded the interdisciplinary Designmatters program, exploring social and humanitarian applications of design. She is also a Chevalier de L’Ordre des Palmes Académiques from the Government of France, in recognition of her service to French cultural activities, and an accomplished pianist.
